The new official photo of all the judges in the reboot has been released. The new set of judges also shared their insights and pushed for gun control after the mass shooting in Las Vegas on October 1.

The official Twitter account of “American Idol” released the photo of Lionel Richie, Katy Perry and Luke Bryan in a single frame along with the show’s host, Ryan Seacrest.

It was captioned, “First family photo!” and also tagged each of their respective social media accounts.

The photos of their iconic seats throughout the auditions have also been released. The seats featured their full names printed on the back part.

Las Vegas shooting

The three new judges recently made a guest appearance on “Good Morning America” where they shared their feelings after the Las Vegas mass shooting incident. It killed at least 50 people and injured at least 500 after a gunman fired shots from the 32nd floor of Mandalay Bay to a country music festival being held that night.

“Prayer without action is powerless,” Katy Perry said. She also pushed for gun control, pointing out that while this will not mean that guns will completely be prohibited, the use of “assault rifles and assault weapons” is not necessary.

Meanwhile, country singer Luke Bryan said that the incident “was one of the most heartbreaking days” of his life. He joined other artists like Ariana Grande who expressed exactly the same words.

For Lionel Richie, who has been a seasoned singer since the past decades, he placed the spotlight on live concert performances that “are in jeopardy” nowadays.

He said, “The worst nightmare we ever have in life is something like that would happen.”

Dream team

Before the official announcement of the new “American Idol” judges, there were various challenges encountered along the way. This included some names that were booted out of the list such as Charlie Puth and Lady Gaga.

For Katy Perry, the judging panel “is the dream team.

“ She added that the show will still discover more talents in the future amid the many changes in the music industry which she said is “in a flux right now,” Billboard reported.

She also believed that there are still “diamonds in the rough” or talents that have yet to be honed. This will be the main responsibility of the judges who will be accepting or rejecting hopefuls auditioning for the hit reality singing competition. They will also share constructive criticisms and comments on their performances once the actual competition has started.
