Singing ventriloquist Darci Lynne Farmer was declared the winner of “America’s got talent” season 12 in the nerve-wracking results episode on September 20. This 12-year-old Oklahoma talent won the $1 million prize and will get a chance to headline her own show in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Before the announcement of the winner, the two final spots were left for Farmer and the 10-year-old Filipino-American singer Angelica Hale. Tyra Banks went for a cliffhanger that lasted a few seconds, leaving the two girls in tears.
As the host read her cue card, the singing ventriloquist was announced the winner and Hale was declared first runner-up.
Farmer’s two brothers then went up on stage to hug their sister and all the four judges also celebrated with them.
