The 12th season of “America’s got talent” held its grand finals on September 19th. The remaining 10 finalists battled it out for the ultimate title to be the new winner of the hit reality talent competition, Goldderby reported.
A few days prior to the “America’s Got Talent” Grand Finals, there were a few cliffhanger moments featuring one of the finalists, Evie Clair. Her father died of colon cancer on September 7, followed by uncertainties of Clair’s appearance this week.
Because of her father’s demise, the 13-year-old singer from Phoenix, Arizona revealed that she might not make it to the grand finale show.
But a day before the episode, she officially confirmed that she will perform on the September 19 episode of “America’s Got Talent,” My News LA reported earlier.
Evie Clair’s finale performance
Evie Clair offered a heartfelt rendition of “What A Wonderful World” played with piano instrumentals in the background. Complete with props of waterfalls on stage, she ended her performance hitting the final notes of the song perfectly.
This young singer then drew loud cheers from the audience, and all four judges gave her a standing ovation. Mel B described her performance as “beautiful and pure.”
“Evie, I’m not gonna judge you, I’m gonna tell you how much I respect you, how much strength you have,” Simon Cowell said.
“This was a perfect tribute to your dad... Your voice was beautiful, the song was beautiful, and I’m very proud of you.”

Meanwhile, 10-year-old Filipino-American singer Angelica Hale chose to perform her own version of “Symphony” by Clean Bandit featuring Zara Larsson during the grand finals show. She sang along with live violin instrumentals being played in the background.
Using her powerful voice, she hit the high notes of the hit song as it gradually increased in melody during her act. Wearing a gold long-sleeve mini dress, Hale sounded like a true pop star in her performance that left the entire audience in loud cheers.
“You look so comfortable and confident. There was not one ounce of nervousness, you took the stage and you controlled every note...
Absolutely amazing,” former Spice Girls member Mel B said of her performance.
Also vying for the title of “America’s Got Talent” are singers Chase Goehring, Darci Lynne Farmer, Mandy Harvey and Keichi Okwuchi. Dance performances from Diavolo and Light Balance, as well as acts from comedian Preacher Lawson, and Sara and Hero tandem will give the judges a difficult time deciding on the winner.
On September 20th, the winner of this season will be announced combining both America’s votes and the judges’ votes. It will be aired at 8/7c on NBC.
