When we last saw Caitlin in Season 3, she bid her friends at S.T.A.R. Labs goodbye. She left to discover herself as since she realized that she is not Killer Frost or Caitlin Snow. However, the trailer for “The Flash” Season 4 revealed that she is back at S.T.A.R. Labs. Did Caitlin eventually decide to be part of Team Flash again? On the contrary, according to Danielle Panabaker, so we might actually see another version of Caitlin Snow in the upcoming season.
Caitlin Snow is not Team Flash
According to Comics Beat, Danielle Panabaker was at Dragon Con over the weekend where she offered up a few details about the installment.
Her cryptic responses during the panel interview hinted at the addition of a new character in Season 4. Panabaker revealed where her character is when the show opens. She said that Caitlin Snow “is not part of Team Flash at the top of the season.” This brings the identity of the Killer Frost-lookalike we saw in the trailer into question. Is she a doppelganger? Will we see another version of Caitlin or Killer Frost from another Earth in “The Flash” Season 4?

What's more interesting was the actress’ follow up reveal. She assured fans that they would not be disappointed with her character. “All I can say is: if you like Caitlin Snow, you won’t be disappointed.
If you like Killer Frost, you won’t be disappointed,” she added. If we were to take her statement literally, then it is anyone's guess that she meant we will see both characters in one person in “The Flash” Season 4. Perhaps this person is from another Earth. If this happens, then it would explain why the woman in the trailer looked like Killer Frost but acted like Caitlin Snow.
She was at S.T.A.R. Labs being helpful to Team Flash. Likewise, behind-the-scenes photos from the filming of “The Flash” Season 4 in Vancouver confirmed Killer Frost’s appearance. Panabaker was spotted filming in her villain character’s costume around the city.
It would not be a surprise if the series will introduce another version of Caitlin Snow given the existence of the multiverse.
The show can just pick a doppelganger from another Earth, much like how they added the different versions of Harrison Wells in the past seasons. However, this would be the first time that we will see another Caitlin Snow as we already saw Killer Frost from Earth 2 back in Season 2.
