Sasha Pieterse could not help but feel sorry for herself as she recalled her painful experience with unintentional weight gain. In the latest "Dancing with the Stars" episode, the actress confessed how she dealt with insults after gaining some pounds.

Actress explains reason for sudden weight gain

The "Pretty Little Liars" star confessed she has gained about 70 pounds in just two years which was a struggle for her. But more than her health issues, Sasha Pieterse was more affected by how the public reacted to her sudden weight gain. Some of them accused her of being pregnant, while others called her fat and criticized her physical appearance.

The 21-year-old actress considered that challenge "one of the hardest things" she has been through until she was recently diagnosed with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome that caused her weight gain. The singer-actress, however, revealed that she has lost 15 pounds since she joined "Dancing with the Stars" with Gleb Savchenko.

On top of that, Sasha Pieterse is feeling like herself again after she decided to take part in the dance competition. "It's not an easy road, but being able to focus on getting myself healthy again and the fact that I'm seeing results now and getting better is all I can ask for," she explained.

For the opening episode of "Dancing With The Stars" last week, Sasha Pieterse and Gleb Savchenko performed a cha-cha-cha set to Fleur East's "Like That" followed by a Viennese waltz set to Rose Royce's "I'm Going Down" for the Ballroom Night.

The pair also showcased a samba set to Hailee Steinfield's "Most Girls," which earned them 22 out of 30 points for the Latin Night. When asked about the performance, the actress thought the song perfectly resonated what she has gone through in the past.
