Ricky Martin teased his fans about his upcoming wedding to fiancé Jwan Yosef. In an interview with Ocean Drive magazine, the Puerto Rican singer provided a few details of the big day which he assured will be opened to the public.
"It's going to be a great event. And people will be talking about it," he explained. "We're a modern family, and I think people need to see, and I want to normalize the beauty of our family."
Singer updates fans on upcoming wedding
The "Come with Me" artist promised to broadcast the wedding to make sure that the world will witness their union.
"Right now we're just dealing with the invitations and everything," the singer revealed.
When asked about the venue for the ceremony, Ricky Martin said they are taking into account that most of Jwan Yosef's family members are living in Syria. "So maybe they won't be able to come into this country. So we might consider doing it in Stockholm or in Spain," he stated.
Jwan Yosef was born to a Kurdish Muslim father and an Armenian Greek Orthodox mother. He was initially from Syria before he moved to Sweden where he was raised. The 33-year-old hottie is known for his artworks which are displayed in several galleries around the globe.
It was reported that Ricky Martin's fiancé earned his degree in fine art at the Central Saint Martins in London.
The Puerto Rican singer went public about his relationship with Jwan Yosef when they made their red carpet debut as a couple at the amFAR Inspiration Gala in Sao Paolo in April 2016.
On becoming a father and coming out as bisexual
The "Livin' La Vida Loca" singer came out as gay in 2010. He was previously in a relationship with Carlos Gonzalez Abella that eventually led to a separation.
But prior to his coming out, Ricky Martin became a father to surrogate twin boys, Matteo and Valentino.
Ricky Martin and Jwan Yosef announced their engagement in the same year they revealed that the two of them were dating. The singer, however, clarified that he is attracted to both men and women but prefers to have romantic relationships with the same sex.
“I know that I like both men and women. I’m against sexual labels, we are simply human beings with emotional and sexual needs,” he explained. "I am gay, men fascinate me, but I like to enjoy sex in total freedom, so I’m open to having sex with a woman if I feel desire."
Unlike most people, the father of two is not afraid of getting old. "I think the issue comes when people just want to look younger. People get a little bit desperate. I just want to look good. I'm someone that represents my age," he said.
