Legend revealed that he was too busy for a relationship
According to CNN Entertainment, singer John Legend recently revealed that he tried to break up with girlfriend Chrissy Teigen when they were first dating. Legend stated that they met when Teigen was cast as a love interest for John Legends song "Stereo." He revealed that they spent the entire day together and that there was immediate chemistry between the pair.
The couple started dating in 2009 and have been together ever since. Legend revealed that in the earlier days of their relationship he once tried to break things off with Teigen. He stated that back then he felt that he was too busy to be involved in a long-term relationship and that he was incredibly stressed.
The singer was on tour when he made a phone call to Teigen expressing his feelings and then announced that he thought they should break up. Legend admitted that at the time he wanted to be single but that not everything went the way he assumed it would.
Teigen refused to let Legend break things off
According to Captial Xtra, Chrissy Teigen has revealed that she refused to let John Legend break up with her.
She tweeted out the funny story on the couple's nine-year anniversary claiming that she was not on board with their relationship ending. Teigen has claimed that the break up was not a real break up and only lasted about half an hour.
The model revealed that Legend called her and that his voice was sore from singing and she felt like he was just taking out his stress on her.
She joked that her boyfriend at the time was whiny and about everything and she were confident he was making an impulsive decision. Chrissy stated that their relationship was great and that she knew that this break up was coming from a different place.
Legend has since admitted that it was one of the biggest decisions of his life and that he is extremely grateful that Teigen kept the couple together.
The couple has revealed that they joke about it now and have come to appreciate the humor of the situation. Legend claims that Teigen makes him a better person and that he would be lost without her.
The couple got married in 2013 and have since had a child together. They are still very much in love and still find their break up story hilarious.
