house of cardsis one of the most successful and famous TV series in the US. Season 5 debuted on May 30, 2017. With the premiere of its fifth installment, it was confirmed that showrunner Beau Willimon is being replaced by Melissa James Gibson and Frank Pugliese.

The season comprised of 13 episodes, and quite naturally, the show’s fans were left wanting for more. Surprisingly enough, Netflix still hasn’t confirmed the existence of a sixth season. Given that the video streaming platform has received much popularity through “House of Cards,” it doesn’t make sense for them to discontinue the series.

As noted by Den of Geek, the show’s fans can be assured that its next installment’s debut is certain.

Rumored release date of the show

Robin Wright recently dropped a hint about “House of Cards” season 6. In an interview with Deadline, Wright joked about how the US President Donald Trump has stolen all their ideas for the sixth season.

The first three seasons of “House of Cards” notably premiered in the month of February each year. The show’s fourth season launched in March, while its fifth season premiered in May. If the production process goes as expected for the showrunners, one can expect “House of Cards” Season 6 to premiere late next year. There is generally a gap of at least 13 to 14 months between the premieres of each season.

On the basis of this, it is safe to assume that “House of Cards” season six might launch in July 2018.

Possible storyline, but nothing concrete

There is no way of guessing what “House of Cards” season six will be about. Neither the producers nor Netflix has given any confirmation about the matter.

Showrunners Frank Pugliese and Melissa James Gibson, however, keep dropping subtle hints about the show’s future.

Pugliese was discussing Claire Underwood with The Hollywood Reporter. He described her as being “more ambitious” than ever before. He also stated how Francis’s complex character will pretty much come in the way for her.

What is known for sure is that the sixth season will still revolve around Claire Underwood and how she is maintaining her responsibility with Francis being by her side.

Netflix’s Robin Wright was recorded by TV Line as saying that Claire is going to be showcased as being one of the “best presidents” ever. The report even stated that the showrunners have tried to give details about the “House of Cards” future towards the end of its fifth season.
