The most exciting season of "America's Got Talent" has finally come to an end and one of the show's contestants was named as the newest season 12 Winner.
Darci Lynne Farmer, the 12-year old singing ventriloquist, has taken away the $1 million grand prize after being named as "America's Got Talent" season 12 champion. Farmer beat Angelica Hale, one of the most talented runners-up of the reality competition.
The new "AGT" season 12 comforted Hale with a hug after the season winner was officially announced. In one of her interviews, Farmer shared that she took ventriloquist to overcome her shyness.
But little did she know that it will be her ticket to a million grand prize.
Star-studded finale
"America's Got Talent" Season 12 had its star-studded finale. After several weeks of blind acts, auditions, extreme musical performances, and outstanding acrobatics, the ten different acts from its talented contestants ended on Wednesday. Among the acts who made it into the season finale were inspirational performers and singers like Mandy Harvey and Evie Clair.
Apart from the singing acts, there were other performances like the acrobatic group and a stand-up comic performer, Preacher Lawson, the Entertainment Tonight reported. The Ukrainian dance crew also made it to the season 12 finale. While Farmer was hailed as the newest reality competition winner, other contestants who made it to the finals already had created a milestone into their respective careers.
Mind-blowing performance
A report from People revealed that Simon Cowell, one of the show's judges, was overwhelmed of the different on-stage performances. One of the biggest acts which highlighted the competition was Terry Fator, as he performed together with his puppet.
Meanwhile, it was not also the first time for season 12 winner to impress the judges.
To recall, the little girl stunned Mel B a lot in one of her past performances. Farmer being a shy girl revealed that "America's Got Talent" has given her enough confidence she could ever have.
Before the season winner made to the top 5 on Wednesday, Farmer was very thankful for the reality competition as it has given her the chance to overcome her fear.
The young ventriloquist reportedly beat the other nine talented contestants during the finals. In addition to her $1 million grand prize, Farmer will also headline to a gig at the Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas.
