2017 has been a big year for celebrity break ups. Every week, tabloids speculate which couple is head towards splitsville. The latest celebrity couple, who are the target of divorce rumors, is Chrissy Teigen and John Legend.
But fans shouldn’t have any reason to worry. Upon learning of the In Touch magazine story, Teigen quickly denied the rumors via an Instagram post. The post featured a photo of the magazine’s cover along with a rant against the tabloid.
The couple's history
Chrissy Teigen began dating John Legend in 2007 after she appeared in one of his music videos. The couple were both in the Early Stages of their careers. Teigen was making a name for herself in the modeling world, while Legend had released his second album. As their relationship progressed, the couple found success in their careers. Teigen landed on the cover of Sports Illustrated along with other magazine covers. Legend, meanwhile continued making songs, which earned him plenty of Grammys along with an Academy Award.
With their professional lives going strong, the couple decided to make a huge commitment in their personal lives.
After four years of dating, the couple got engaged over the holiday season in 2011. A year and a half later, the couple married in September 2013. Another huge milestone came for the couple, when their daughter Luna was born in April 2016.
Like many celebrity couples, Teigen and Legend aren’t afraid of showcasing their lives to the fans. They often post photos of themselves and their daughter via social media. Recently, the couple celebrated their anniversary by sharing photos and declaring their love for each other on Instagram.
Tabloid speculation
Teigen and Legend aren’t the only couple to be the subject of tabloid speculation. Yet, despite the debunking of rumors, that doesn’t mean the couple’s marriage is far from perfect.
Both Teigen and Legend have been very open about some of their relationship issues.
Recently, Legend opened up about how he once tried to break up with Teigen during the early stages of their relationship. Whatever the problem was, the couple was able to work it out. Another problem the couple had to endure was fertility issues. The couple struggled for years to have a baby before turning to in-vitro fertilization in the hopes of becoming parents. Most recently, Teigen admitted that she had been struggling with alcohol addiction.
With Teigen’s alcohol confession along with the couple’s openness about their relationship, they’ve found themselves tabloid fodder. Despite the debunking, the rumors will continue to plague Teigen and Legend. But if their past is any indication, the couple has shown they can overcome any obstacle.
