Ben Affleck appeared in the newest Batman in the 2016 film “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice”, for which he received acclaim for his portrayal as Bruce Wayne. But is he really going to continue wearing the suit for his stand-alone film?

Although Ben Affleck already made himself a familiar name in the DC Universe, there are some rumors that make people think he will drop the black suit soon.

In August, the rumor was brought up and Affleck immediately debunked the news, saying he is a lucky man for playing the part. “I’m so thrilled to do it. It is f**king amazing,” he added. Warner Bros. doesn't disagree.

Casey Affleck weighs on Ben Affleck’s vigilante role

But Ben Affleck’s Oscar-winning brother, Casey Affleck, spoke in an interview and his comments confused a lot of people when it comes to his brother’s role as the vigilante. “He was great. He is a hero, so he had something to channel and work with there. But he is not going to do that movie, I do not think. Sorry to say,” he said.

But the actor seemed to be joking as he later added: “I was just kind of making that up, I do not know.” And when Vanity Fair asked for clarifications from Warner Bros., none was given.

Casey Affleck is indeed an expert in his field. The Oscar win from “Manchester by the Sea” can support that claim. But trolling with a straight face was something he did before (Joaquin Phoenix) and “Justice League” is still coming up with Ben taking the lead with "Wonder Woman" (Gal Gadot).

Ben’s life as a divorced man tackled

Updates about the actor/director’s personal life are also making it to the tabloids. With his freshly filed divorce with estranged wife, Jennifer Garner, the actor is now happily dating Lindsay Shookus.

Shookus is known for being a producer on “Saturday Night Live,” with seven Emmy awards on her name.

On September 11, the couple spent the weekend together from watching film “It” and attending a tennis match at the US open. The couple is known for going on multiple dates and smiling to the cameras when they walk together on the road, hand in hand.

Before that, the 45-year-old screenwriter was with his ex, Garner, to celebrate Labor Day in Los Angeles. The former couple has been trying their best when it comes to co-parenting.

Amid the rumors about him passing the “Batman” costume to someone new, Ben Affleck will still portray Bruce Wayne in the November film, “Justice League”. There is no doubt that he would continue working on some great movies and there are many reasons why fans should watch out for his exciting work!
