The latest updates and spoilers for "Flashpoint" movie will feature fight between Wonder Woman and Aquaman, and the possibility of a new Joker in the film.
Amazon and Atlantis War
Warner Bros. Studio announced during SDCC 2017 that "The Flash" live-action film will be renamed "Flashpoint" based on the popular DC comic book storyline. "Flashpoint" will feature Barry Allen/The Flash waking up into an alternate present timeline after he prevented his mother's death, thus accidentally changed everyone's history.
In the alternate timeline, Wonder Woman and her Amazon's rage war against Aquaman and his kingdom as their conflict could result in the potential end the world.
With that in mind, it seems that the "Flashpoint" movie will likely follow the same path as the comic book with Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman facing-off against Jason Momoa's Aquaman.
The conflict started with Queen Hippolyta's assassination during a unification treaty between Themyscira and Atlantis. The Amazon's suspected that the Atlanteans did it, while the other side claimed that someone else planned this to make them look bad. It was during that time that Arthur fell in love with Diana and the two had an affair.
Queen Mera, Arthur's wife discovered the affair and attacked Wonder Woman in retaliation. In the end, Diana killed Mera and Aquaman was outraged by what she did, resulting in an all-out war against the two races.
The United States government tasked Cyborg to assemble an elite team of heroes to stop the war from destroying the world.
Flashpoint Joker teased
Karen Gillan declared that she wants to play the Joker in the DC Cinematic Universe during her appearance at Florida Supercon. She is famous for her role as Nebula in the two "Guardians of the Galaxy" movies and is set to return in "Avengers: Infinity War."
"Oh, can I say something DC?
OK, I'm going to say something DC, and I'm going to play the Joker," Gillan told Comic Book Resources. "Maybe a female Joker.
The DCEU version of The Joker was played by "Thirty Seconds to Mars" singer Jared Leto and appeared in the "Suicide Squad" movie. But with "Flashpoint" in the works, could comic book fans see a female version of the Clown Prince of Crime in the film?
In the Flashpoint timeline, Martha Wayne became the Joker after she witnessed the death of her son, Bruce in Crime Alley. Her son's death drove her insane and became a psychotic mass murderer. Her husband, Thomas took on the mantle of Batman and two fought each other for decades.
"The Walking Dead" star Jeffrey Dean Morgan expressed his interest in playing Thomas' version of the Dark Knight in DCEU, posting several fan arts on Instagram.
The "Flashpoint" movie is scheduled to launch in 2020.
