The FlashSeason 4 will finally explore Barry Allen’s fate after his stay in the Speed Force. Likewise, we will finally see how Team Flash is doing in Barry’s absence. However, ahead of the show's return on Oct. 10, we have gathered some spoilers and updates below.

Season 4 opens with a time jump

When Season 4 opens, six months will have already passed since Barry sacrificed himself in the Speed Force in the Season 2 Finale. Team Flash is still reeling from his absence, but they have slowly learned to move on. They continue to keep Central City safe with Wally West aka Kid Flash assuming the role of the city’s hero in Barry’s absence.

As for Iris, she has learned to be strong despite her obvious sadness. Joe is obviously also upset. After all, he treated Barry as his real son.

However, if there is one good thing that came out from the scarlet speedster’s disappearance, it is the change it brought out in his children. Wally is finally the superhero that he has always wanted to be. Iris has turned into a leader. She has taken over the reins at S.T.A.R. Labs and has become the team leader.

Barry is in a jumble

Grant Gustin said Barry is a different person when he returns home. He is confused and jumbled, and he has become wiser. He has also learned to appreciate his powers more. These changes are effects from his stay in the Speed Force. Season 4 will not really show how Barry spent his time there, but Gustin hinted that it is not pleasant at all.

He said that Barry had to relive his life from start to finish” over again in a condensed amount of time. It will be interesting to see how his friends at S.T.A.R. Labs will react to this new Barry Allen.

New Big Bad and metahumans in "The Flash" Season 4

Team Flash will be up against their first non-metahuman main nemesis in Season 4.

His name is Clifford DeVoe aka The Thinker (Neil Sandilands). Savitar and Abra Kadabra mentioned his name in Season 3. Meanwhile, there will be two new meta-human villains in Central City. One appears to be a Samuroid as seen in the trailer and the other is the villain Heavy (Sugar Lyn Beard). Variety described Beard as “perpetually down-on her luck” and is “convinced that her life is cursed” until a freak accidentally turns her into a threat for Team Flash.

Other confirmed characters in “The Flash” Season 4 are The Elongated Man (Hartley Sawyer), The Mechanic (Kim Engelbrecht) and Earth 19- bounty hunter Breacher (Danny Trejo).
