The CW offered an exclusive look at what is to come in “The Flash” Season 4 during the recent San Diego Comic-Con. The trailer revealed the appearance of new and old villains and returning allies and so much more. Read below to find out.
New and returning villains
A few days ago leaked photos from the filming of the series in Canada revealed a new villain, who by the looks of his outfit resembles one of the Samuroids. Now we finally have our first look at the character in action from the trailer. It is clear from the preview that he wants Barry Allen in exchange for peace in Central City.
This definitely puts Team Flash in a dilemma since the scarlet speedster is still in the Speed Force.
Thankfully, Cisco aka Vibe has a solution. It is safe to say that he and Caitlin aka Killer Frost (Danielle Panabaker) managed to find a way to bring back The Flash, although this may be Barry a different Barry and not the one trapped in the Speed Force. A recent set photo surfaced that shows Grant Gustin (The Flash) in a different suit.
According to Den of Geek, the costume is from Season 3, which means the speedster the team brings to face the Samuroid could be from another timeline. Fans believe this is 2024 Barry, whom present Barry encountered when he traveled to the future to know who Savitar is.
This is the speedster who helped defeat Top and Mirror Master. The yellow belt gave away his identity ( see video below).
Meanwhile, Peek-a-Boo (Britne Olford) returns in “The Flash” Season 4 to wreak havoc in Central City. The last time we saw the villain she along with other metahumans escaped from the Pipeline in S.T.A.R.
Labs thanks to Captain Cold’s help. It is unknown what brings her back to the city. Perhaps she plans another heist, similar to her debut in Season 1 when she robbed an armored truck using her teleportation powers.
Killer Frost is back with Team Flash
Eventually, Caitlin returns to work with her friends at S.T.A.R. Labs, contrary to what she told the team in the Season 3 Finale.
Perhaps by the time she returns, she has already discovered her true self and has decided that being a villain is not worth it after all.
Iris West is moving on
When “The Flash” Season 4 opens, it has already been six months since the events in the Season 3 Finale, when Barry decided to sacrifice himself to save Central City from the unbalanced Speed Force. During this time, Iris has learned to be strong as what she has promised to her fiancé before he walked into the Speed Force. She has learned to think and accept that Barry may never come back and so she decides to step in as the team’s leader. This is why she is against the idea of bringing 2024 Barry to the present time. Who knows what happens when feelings get in the way.
