The Big Bang Theory” Season 11 that will premiere this year has Steve Holland as the new showrunner as Steven Molaro has moved on to the spinoff “Young Sheldon” that will bring forth the child Sheldon Cooper before the viewers. However, if fans are expecting any similarity between the adult and the child, they would not find any as the child prodigy is very different from his adult nerd avatar.

Also, fans might not see the original show after Season 12 as co-creator Chuck Lorre has hinted at the same.

Steve Holland as showrunner for Season 11

“The Big Bang Theory” Season 11 will see Steve Holland helming the day-to-day affairs of the show, and he would be supervising the writers’ room this season. Steve has stepped into the shoes of Steven Molaro as the latter has moved on to join “Young Sheldon.” However, he would continue to give his inputs and would also keep in touch with the original show. As for Steve, this promotion comes after a long time.

He had joined the show in Season 3 in 2009 as a writer, and it was in Season 10 that he also became an executive producer.

He shares a long association with the CBS comedy show and has worked on it for the most of his career.

“Young Sheldon” to have a naïve child Sheldon

Meanwhile, the spinoff “Young Sheldon” will bring forth a vulnerable and naïve Sheldon Copper before the audiences. Chuck Lorre had said that when they were making the show, they realized that bringing the cynical attitude of adult Sheldon to his child version would make the character appear to be a brat. Hence, they decided to base the story at a time when the 9-year-old child is still gullible and innocent.

As fans know, “Big Little Lies” fame Iain Armitage is playing Sheldon in the spinoff, and the show revolves around his childhood life in East Texas where he lives with his mother.

Chuck Lorre says Season 12 could be the end

While Season 11 of the CBS show is ready to air in a month and Season 12 is also finalized, the latter could end up bringing down the curtains on the show. Co-creator Chuck Lorre, while speaking to the media at a recent press conference, said that they had never thought that the show would be able to reach Season 11 and thus, one could assume that Season 12 might mark its end.

It is worth mentioning here that Season 11 of “The Big Bang Theory” was delayed due to salary negotiations between the cast and the producers and the delay had made fans anxious about the fate of the show with many wondering if it would come to an end after Season 10.
