International singing sensation Taylor Swift is now a retailer of jewelry. Following the release of her newest single, the female singer is selling snake-inspired accessories in her online store.
When Swift released a teaser of her new album “Reputation” last Wednesday, she posted images of snakes all over social media. Since then, it seemed as if the reptile has been part of her newest brand.
Her official website is now selling a silver snake ring and a gold snake ring, each for $60.
The silver snake ring is platinum-plated, while the gold-colored one is plated with 24-karat gold. Both of the jewelry pieces are made with eight grams of silver, ornamented with around 300 zircon of crystals, Entertainment Weekly reported. The merchandise also includes non-jewelry items such as pullovers, cover t-shirts, phone stands, and wool hats. However, the black hooded pullover still has the snake on its design. The item is available from the official Taylor Swift online store for $75.
The singer has sold merchandise items of these kinds before, such as shirts that are inspired by her “1989” album that was released in 2014. Following this trend, she has included shirts with the imprint of “Look What You Made Me Do,” the first single released out of her newest album.
New song
After subsequent teasers released online, Taylor Swift has finally unveiled her newest single on Thursday -- the same day her rival Katy Perry released her new music video. The new song is titled “Look What You Made Me Do,” which was reportedly about saying goodbye to her old self and saying hello to a more vengeful Swift.
Part of the lyrics of her new song read, “Oooh, look what you made me do. I don’t like your little games, Don’t like your titled stage, The role you made me play of the fool.” The Washington Post interpreted the rhythm of the song as something that came from the beat of a 1991 hit song “I’m Too Sexy” by Right Said Fred. The lyrics went on to say, “No I don’t like you.
I’ve got a list of names and yours is in red underlined.”
Nicki Minaj tweets
Meanwhile, fellow singer Nicki Minaj tweeted shortly after Swift’s new music was released. The “Anaconda” singer wrote, “[N-word] sit down. Be humble.”
Fans then speculated that her tweet referred to the lyrics of the new song by the female country singer, as it allegedly sent messages to Kanye West and Kim Kardashian. Entertainment Weekly reported that the “Anaconda” singer and the “Mean” songstress were involved in a feud over a nomination for their music videos. Minaj on the same day was launched as a featured singer in “Swish Swish,” the newest single of Katy Perry – another artist Swift is known to have a conflict with.
