It looks like there will be a love triangle brewing in the coming Luciferseason 3. With the coming of Tom Welling as Lieutenant Marcus Pierce, it seems like he will be having a romance with his co-worker Chloe Decker (Lauren German).

It is known that Lucifer Morningstar (Tom Ellis) never likes competition. Although he will be busy finding the perpetrator behind what happened to him last season, he will do everything to get Chloe’s attention back to himself.

Welling’s surprising inclusion

"It's strange because Lucifer is not used to having any sort of competition, certainly on the sexual front,” Tom Ellis told TV Guide.

However, although Marcus might have a developing romance with Chloe, he still feels secure thinking that he and the homicide detective have a very special kind of connection.

But, when he comes to realize that someone is competing to have Chloe’s heart, the threat of a love triangle might bring the worst out in Lucifer. Tom Ellis admitted that his character will be deeply affected when “someone will come into the fold and make her look in a different direction.” With that, fans might see him jealous and all of the other bad things that he is actually made of in “Lucifer” Season 3.

On the other hand, the television show’s fans might resent Tom Welling’s role for intervening in Chloe and Lucifer’s relationship.

But, the 40-year-old actor cleared that his character is not that bad at all. "You might not like him off the bat,” he hinted. On the contrary, viewers will be surprised to see the real reason why he has been added to the series, what is he going to do, and how he will “shake things up.”

A coming of a new recurring role

Meanwhile, the previous season’s finale left its fans on the edge of their seats as Lucifer was seen sporting his wings back.

After he successfully dealt with his mother, Charlotte (Tricia Helfer), he wanted to meet Chloe instantly and confess everything about himself. However, before he could get there, he was knocked out by an unknown man.

He woke up in the middle of the desert, alone, and now has wings. From here on, a lot of questions emerged, but it is a big mystery who the guy behind all this is.

According to Bleeding Cool, “Lucifer” Season 3 will tackle what happened to Lucifer in the previous season.

Meanwhile, TV Line reported that Fox is casting a recurring role of a character named Sinnerman. He is a criminal mastermind who Lucifer suspects to be the man behind his abduction. The character is also considered to be one of the “mythological elements” of the television series.

“Lucifer” Season 3 will return on Oct. 2 on Fox.
