For quite some time now, fans have been speculating whether Marika Dominczyk will return to reprise her role as Dr. Eliza Minnick in the hit show "Grey's Anatomy." Unfortunately, the answer is "no," as TVLine recently confirmed her exit from the show. The reason for her exit is unknown and ABC has not disclosed the status of her contract with the show. Dominczyk is the latest cast member who opted out for the new season. Jerrika Hinton who plays Stephanie Edwards also left after completing the last episode of Season 13.

Marika Dominczyk's departure comes as a bittersweet respond to those who hated but eventually learned to love her as Arizona Robbins' (Jessica Capshaw) love interest.

Formerly hired by the Grey Sloan hospital as a consultant, the orthopedic surgeon came strong and mighty to the hospital, which eventually led to the dislike of many doctors in the hospital. Her unfortunate circumstances were even made worse by her beautiful, yet formidable critic; Arizona Robbins.

Arizona Robbins and Eliza Minnick's love story

The first meeting instantly put them on the wrong foot against each other. Arizona came to her defense when she saw Eliza's note that had her name on it. Apparently, she thought she was on the list of doctors needing to be fired in order to make room for improvement in the hospital. Eliza, on the other hand, explained that the note was her personal way of remembering the names of the doctors.

It was also the first time she insinuated interest in Arizona when she said: "Arizona Robbins? That name attached to that face? No, that's not one you forget."

Other Grey's Anatomy Season 14 cast

Now, as the new "Grey's Anatomy" Season 14 arrives this fall, fans are left wondering just what happened to Eliza Minnick after she got fired.

Meanwhile, the arrival of Carina DeLuca (Stefania Spampinato) can also be seen as an impending love interest for Arizona Robbins. After all, her relationship with Eliza is not as deep as with her ex-wife Callie Torres (Sara Ramirez).

Dominczyk has not yet released a statement regarding her departure from "Grey's Anatomy." The ABC network also chose to stay quiet on the issue.

Meanwhile, the doctor's departure sees two new actresses arrive - Abigail Spencer who will play the role of Megan Hunt and Stefania Spampinato as Carina DeLuca, the sister of Dr. Andrew DeLuca (Giacomo Giannotti).

"Grey's Anatomy" Season 14 premieres on September 28, 2017, on the ABC network.
