“Supergirl” season 3 will be returning in October and Kevin Smith just cannot stop teasing us about the upcoming season. It was revealed in my earlier reports that Smith is set to direct the fifth episode of Season 3. This will be his third time in “Supergirl” as the series director.

According to Syfy, Smith posted on Twitter a photo of the DEO set that is located in Vancouver. It can be recalled that his first tweet was the script for episode 5. It was unfortunate that the episode's title was not shown in the photo. On a brighter note, the material was confirmed to be penned by Eric Carrasco and Cindy Lichtman.

What should we expect from Kevin Smith?

Kevin Smith will be working with Carrasco who wrote his previously directed episode entitled “Supergirl Lives.” Fans can also look into Carrasco’s Star Wars fan-film entitled “Hoshino,” if they want to experience more of his talent. Meanwhile, this is the third episode for Lichtman in “Supergirl.”

Moreover, Smith directed two episodes from another The CW series “The Flash.” It is safe to say that he has been attached recently to the network’s DC comic-based TV shows. Smith was always vocal in expressing how much he loved the Scarlet Speedster and the Girl of Steel.

He even wrote a celebrate run for “Arrow.” However, it is the only DCCW series where he was not able to direct.

What’s next in Season 3?

The series left the fans with so many loose ends. First, there is the unknown whereabouts of Mon-El (Chris Wood), a marriage proposal between Maggie Sawyer (Floriana Lima) and Alex Danvers (Chyler Leigh), and a glimpse of the upcoming season’s villain: Reign.

There were several speculations about Mon-el's possible location. Despite this, he will probably not be around during the first few episodes. In order to feel Mon-El’s absence, the viewers have to experience it too.

The Season 3 trailer showcases the heartbreak of Kara Danvers (Melissa Benoist). It seems that she is going to be that way for quite a while.

In addition, the moments happening between the ‘Sanvers’ couple need to be addressed. It is great that the viewers witnessed a marriage proposal. Unfortunately, Floriana Lima was not a series regular anymore.

There is a possibility that she will say goodbye one way or another. After all, she has future commitments with other projects. Furthermore, “Supergirl” will introduce a new villain named Reign, who will be portrayed by Odette Annable. Thanks to Kevin Smith, viewers are receiving updates from “Supergirl” Season 3.
