It’s now official! Daniel Craig has finally confirmed that he will be reprising his role as 007 in the upcoming “James Bond” film for its 25th anniversary. The 49-year-old star announced his return as the iconic secret agent when he graced “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” on Tuesday.

In spite of a lot of hullabaloo, Rachel Weisz’s husband heard his fans’ cry and they are now all excited for his return.

This will be the fifth time that the actor will portray the British Secret Service agent for the franchise.

Craig’s official return

"I've been quite cagey about it," Daniel Craig admitted to Stephen Colbert about the 25th “James Bond” movie.

He narrated that every time he has an interview, people have been asking if he is going to reprise his role. But, he just remains reserved about it. However, whenever he felt like telling the truth, he knew that it had to be at the right time. “I should speak the truth to you," he told “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” host.

Daniel Craig confessed that he has always wanted to reprise his role as 007.

But, he hinted that this might be the last time that he will be doing the movie adaptation of Ian Fleming’s novels. “I think this is it. I just want to go out on a high note," he added.

The controversial 2015 comment

Additionally, Daniel Craig also talked about his 2015 comment when he said that he would rather choose to slit his wrist than do another “James Bond” film.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” star disclosed that he had said something “really stupid” at that time instead of speaking with some grace and style.

Details about the film are not yet revealed, but its script might be written by Neal Purvis, who has also wrote "Spectre," "Skyfall," "The World is Not Enough," "Die Another Day," and "Casino Royale." Although it has no official title yet, it now has a release date and is coming on Nov.
