There is little doubt that Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen will be instrumental in the fight against the White Walkers in "Game of Thrones" Season 7. However, there is another character who might turn out to be important due to her connection to the ice zombies.
Most viewers may see Gilly as a love interest to Samwell Tarly and a means to push his story forward in "Game of Thrones." However, some believe that there is a reason why Craster's daughter/wife ended up in the Citadel with Sam and she could play a larger role beyond the seventh season.
Gilly's unbelievable luck
In the second season, the pregnant Gilly befriended Sam, a friendship that eventually helped her escape her wildling father with her newborn son. She also witnessed firsthand that dragonglass could kill White Walkers. Gilly's luck continued when she survived the wildling attack on Mole's Town when Ygritte told her to hide.
Could things continue to get better for Gilly in "Game of Thrones" Season 7? She appears to be doing well in the Citadel with Sam and her son. In addition to that, her blood connection to the White Walkers might be able to save her life once again in the HBO series.
The White Walkers' sister/aunt
There is no shortage of memes about Gilly's complicated family tree.
However, some fans have noted that she also happens to be related to most of the White Walkers. After all, Craster had sacrificed numerous sons to the Night King and these children are related to Gilly by blood. Is it possible that the ice zombies will refuse to kill their own sister if they encounter her again in "Game of Thrones"?
Although it is highly unlikely that Gilly will want to meet up with her brothers again in the future, it is possible that she is still an important character in the show's future. A promo picture for Season 7 already showed Gilly reading about Azor Ahai, which could mean that she will be the one to tell Sam about Jon Snow's possible fate, as per Winter Is Coming.
Gilly's future could soon be decided, but it looks like the fourth episode in the seventh season of "Game of Thrones" has other more important things to tackle. There are speculations that Arya Stark will finally reach Winterfell in "The Spoils of War" as Daenerys Targaryen decides to ally with Jon Snow. In addition to that, the dragons, as well as the Dothraki, can finally spring into action.
"Game of Thrones" Season 7 Episode 4 will air on HBO on August 6.
