HBO’s “Game of Thrones” has developed a reputation for its high turnover of characters. Season after a season, a fresh threat looms over the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros. So far, the Night King and his army is the show’s most dangerous threat. But hope is not lost because here are some fan favorite characters who may survive a White Walker attack if it happened today.

Sam Tarly

Sam may not be the best fighter in the Night’s Watch, but he has already killed a White Walker. He was also instrumental in discovering that Dragonglass can kill the undead.

Before he left home, he stole the Tarly family sword, Heartsbane, a blade made of Valyrian Steel. Valyrian steel is another effective element against the White Walkers.

Brienne of Tarth

More than being an excellent swordfighter and a remarkably strong woman, Brienne also possesses Oathkeeper, the Valyrian steel blade made from the sword of Lord Eddard Stark. The sword was given to her by Jamie Lannister before they parted ways. Since she also swore to protect the Stark girls as an oath to Catelyn Stark, Sansa also has a strong chance of survival with Brienne’s protection.

Jon Snow

The King in the North was given Lord Commander Jeor Mormont’s family sword Longclaw before he died. With it, Jon Snow was able to kill a White Walker at Hardhome.

This proved the effectiveness of Valyrian steel against the undead. It is believed that after being brought back from the dead, surviving wars and the Night King himself, Jon stands a good chance of surviving a White Walker attack.

Arya Stark

Arya cultivated her skills as an assassin under the tutelage of Jaqen H'ghar and the Many-Faced God.

Arya knows how to defend herself, but recently, she was given a Valyrian steel dagger by her brother Bran (who received the weapon from Littlefinger). Coupled with Arya’s skills as a fighter, the dagger could not be in more capable hands.

Daenerys Targaryen

Daenerys doesn’t have a Valyrian steel weapon in her possession but she has a massive army of Dothraki Blood Riders and the Unsullied to protect her.

She also has three full-grown dragons that can incinerate White Walkers even before they get close to her.

Cersei and Jamie Lannister

Again, survival is not about possession of Valyrian steel and Dragonglass. Cersei has The Mountain, the reanimated corpse of the strongest warrior in King’s Landing, to do her fighting for her. Since he’s already dead, he is no longer susceptible to the vulnerabilities of the living. As for Jamie, he possesses the Valyrian steel sword Widow's Wail, also forged from Ned Stark's greatsword, Ice.
