K-pop and Korean drama fans rejoice! Your favorite Korean celebrity couple Rain and Kim Tae Hee just welcomed their baby girl to the world.

The news was confirmed by R.A.I.N Company. Based on the official press release, both Kim Tae Hee and the couple’s baby were both healthy, reported Koreaboo.

“Thank you… [The baby] is a pretty princess ~ We will raise this child to grow up to someone who can help the world. #Blessed,” Rain posted on his Instagram account as he shared his joy in welcoming their firstborn.

Happy couple

It can be recalled that superstars Rain and Kim Tae Hee, one of the power couples of the Korean entertainment industry, got married in a low-key ceremony early this year.

The wedding was attended only by their family members and closest friends.

During the early months of their marriage, it was already rumored that Kim Tae Hee was pregnant with the couple’s first child. However, the actress dismissed the reports while saying she and Rain actually wanted the rumors to be true because they were ready to their family. At the time, Kim Tae Hee was reportedly reviewing roles for her much awaited comeback to the Korean drama scene.

Fast forward to May 2017, the couple’s agencies confirmed that the actress was already 15 weeks pregnant and was super happy with the news. While reports about the baby’s gender and the progress of the pregnancy have been scarce, Rain and Kim Tae Hee have been spotted taking vacations and looking happy.

Retirement from K-pop?

While Rain gears for the next chapter of his life as a father to his little princess, it has earlier been reported that the singer, actor and producer is getting ready to retire from performing in the near future.

As he prepares for his comeback album later this year, Rain said he is planning “exiting the singing and dancing field.” The actor said in an interview last June that he feels satisfied with his contributions to the Korean music industry.

He added that his signature style of performing will also be hard to emulate by even younger singers.

Rain did not discount that he will still be involved in music or acting in the future. It can be recalled that the actor recently turned down a role in the X-men franchise to continue filming the Korean biopic Uhm Bok Dong.

Fans lamented that the X-men movie would have been a great comeback film after the success of his first Hollywood film Ninja Assassin. However, the conflicting filming schedules rendered it impossible for Rain to appear in both projects.

For now, it seems that Rain will be focusing on a much more important role, which is the role of daddy.
