The fourth episode of "Game of Thrones" showcased the Loot Train Battle in the last minutes of the episode. It was an explosive battle (pun intended). Daenerys finally brought out Drogon and the Dothraki blood-riders. They attacked Jaime and the Lannister army while en route back to King's Landing from Highgarden.

So many things happened during the battle, Tyrion saw his brother on the opposite side of the battle, the Lannister men burning and dying. Bronn used the Scorpion (the giant ballista Qyburn built) against Drogon - he was wounded by a shot.

Jaime was knocked off his horse and was sinking to the bottom of the lake when the episode ended.

While two of the biggest characters of the show were heavily focused during the battle, one minor character caught the viewers' attention. Sure Bronn had his fine and very Bronn moments in the episode, but it was Dickon Tarly that caught the attention.

The new actor

Dickon Tarly is now played by the English actor Tom Hopper. The role formerly belonged to Freddie Stroma, popularly known for portraying Cormac Mclagen in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.

Stroma wasn't able to reprise his role as Dickon Tarly for Season 7 due to his commitment to the new series “Time After Time” in ABC, where he plays the lead character – the author H.G. Wells.

Dickon is now played by Hopper, who has previously appeared in “Doctor Who” as Jeff in the fifth series of the show, in “Merlin” as Sir Percival, and played the lead role in “Black Sails” as William “Billy Bones” Manderly.

Hopper caught the viewers’ attention with his sharp jawline and blue eyes. Fans were quick to Google the actor and fans are going crazy. The 32-year-old actor is a fitness fanatic, it is clearly shown in the photos on his Instagram account. Hopper is not just a pretty face (and body), he campaigns for awareness of colon, testicular and penile cancer.

The character

Dickon Tarly is the younger son of Lord Randyll Tarly and the younger brother of Samwell Tarly. He was first seen in the show in “Blood of My Blood” (S06E06) when Sam went home to Horn Hill with Gilly and Little Sam. Dickon later reappeared in “Stormborn” (S07E02), when he went with his father to King’s Landing.

Dickon is a skilled hunter, athletic and an excellent swordsman, which made him Randyll’s favored son. Randyll sent Samwell to the Night’s Watch and designated Dickon as heir to Horn Hill and the family’s Valyrian Steel sword Heartsbane. Dickon is arrogant and condescending, as shown in “Blood of My Blood.”

During the Loot Train Battle, he saved Jaime from a Dothraki bloodrider by stabbing the bloodrider in the back. Being an excellent swordsman that he is, he probably survived the battle, dragon fire and all, and fans will get to see more of him in the future episodes.
