According to People Magazine, Portia de Rossi opened up about the first time that she met her future bride Ellen DeGeneres in an interview with Oprah. The star revealed that she and Ellen first met socially and that she felt an immediate connection and draw to the comedian.
She stated that the night they met, they did talk for a while and over the next three years, and they continued to run into each other at events and parties. However, Portia stated there was one significant moment when she realized how strongly she felt for Ellen.
She claims that when she was at a photo shoot she went over to say hello to Ellen when the TV host turned around.
In a report by E! News, Portia recalled feeling as if an arrow had shot through her heart. She stated that she was incredibly overwhelmed by her feelings for Ellen and that it took her a further ten months to even work up the courage to do anything about them.
