Untitled movie will be a love story
The DC cinematic universe is currently concocting a new movie. According to the news, DC is currently in their final negotiations with John Requa and Glenn Ficarra, directors and executive producers of NBC’s “This Is Us.” Reports say that the studio wants the two film makers to join the cinematic universe and pen the upcoming untitled film. The duo is known to have written and directed other films like “I love Philip Morris” and “Crazy, Stupid, Love.”
The untitled film is said to be a “criminal love story” focusing on the two murdering villains from DC’s “Suicide Squad.” For this film, Margot Robbie and Jared Leto will return to their iconic roles as Harley Quinn and the Joker.
Leto and Robbie’s The Joker and Harley Quinn gained a lot of popularity due to their amazing portrayal of the iconic “Batman” villains. The two actors first tried their hand on the characters in DC’s “Suicide Squad” in 2016.
Aside from this, it is said that this upcoming film is supposed to come after the sequel to “Suicide Squad 2.” However, the studio has to arrange the agreements soon for the actors to be available for the Harley Quinn and Joker movie.
Not much is said about the film’s story, but it is reported to follow Warner Bros main line of movies. This includes other big titles in the future such as the upcoming "Wonder Woman 2," and the “Justice League” film.
Future Films
Aside from the upcoming criminal love story and their main line of superhero films, Warner Bros are also planning to make other DC films outside the established cinematic universe. This plan means that the film company will be making stand alone movies. One of these stand alone series is the currently-being-developed Joker movie.
