Jill Duggar Dillard is still recovering from the traumatic birth of her son, but her husband Derick Dillard has time to war with LGBT stars on Twitter. As fans worried over the "19 Kids and Counting" new mom, the new dad seemed more concerned about proving transgender people ungodly. The dad of two went after TLC star Jazz Jennings of "I Am Jazz" in a rant that many found homophobic.
Meanwhile, Mrs. Dillard's health and their family situation continues to trouble fans.
Fans read trouble in Jill Dillard's silence
Normally, the Duggar family of "19 Kids and Counting" and now "Counting On" post details of every little thing on social media. The ultra-conservative Christians are popular on reality television and Facebook, and folks eagerly await their Instagram updates. So when Jill Dillard was quiet about the birth of her son Samuel Scott Dillard, people wondered what was up. For weeks, no pictures were shared. Some speculated that she had pregnancy complications or that the baby was disabled in some way.
Birth wasn't easy on Jill Duggar Dillard
The baby is healthy but Jill Dillard had a C-section after a grueling 70-hour labor. Baby Samuel weighed 10 pounds which meant a lot of work for his petite 26-year-old mother. Mom Michelle Duggar birthed "19 Kids and Counting" but some are wondering how many more children her second oldest daughter will be able to handle. Long labors and big babies can make for high-risk pregnancies. Still, the reality TV mom seems to have bounced back and is delighted with her new addition.
Derick Dillard starts anti-gay war
In an awkward debate, the fundamentalist Christian "Counting On" star called out fellow TLC star Jazz Jennings. The dad of two tweeted that "Transgender is a myth.
Gender is not fluid; it's ordained by God." Although this belief is shared by others, some found themselves opposed to the reality star. They questioned how a new father had time to be picking fights on Twitter. Even "19 Kids and Counting" fans took exception to him going after individuals in the LGBT community. They found it ironic that a reality TV celebrity would would pass judgement on other Celebrities.
Derick Dillard and Josh Duggar called hypocrites
Some Twitter commenters suggested that Jill Duggar's husband might want to learn a lesson from Josh Duggar. The eldest son of "19 Kids and Counting" was a paid spokesman against the gay and lesbian community. Then he was found to have engaged in pedophilia and incest and his dad Jim Bob Duggar covered it up.
Now, after adultery, the out-of-work dad of four has another child on the way and hopes to get on "Counting On" for the lucrative wages. The unemployed Dillard lives off of reality show earnings and isn't even church-sponsored or qualified for the mission work he fundraised to do. Critics say he should deal with the board in his own eye before casting stones at others.
