Transgender and former reality star Caitlyn Jenner is considering running for the Senate in California. She will reveal her decision within the next six months.

Reuters reported that Jenner was at the "CATS Roundtable" radio show in New York. She told John Catsimatidis that she is busy working with activist groups in an attempt to improve the Republican Party's stance on the lesbian, gay, and transgender issue.

She will decide in the next six months if she believes she will do a better job on her advocacy if she works in the political scene or should she stick with working with activist groups.

If Jenner pursues the senatorial seat, she will be up against Democratic US Senator Dianne Feinstein. Feinstein is expected to seek re-election in California next year but has not made any official announcement yet.

Jenner is now working with the American Unity Fund. It is an activist group that hopes to push the Republican Party to do a better job with matters related to the LGBTQ community.

Jenner meeting with Trump aides

Members of the Trump administration have been meeting with Jenner but it is unclear for how many times already. She told ABC News that she and the Trump administration members have been talking about the LGBTQ issues. According to her, she will be meeting next with the United States Ambassador to the United Nations, Nikki Haley.

Former Olympian a strong critic of President Donald Trump

Although the 67-year-old former Olympian remains a Republican, she has been an outspoken and strong critic of President Donald Trump. Last year, during the campaign, Trump called on Jenner to use any of the bathrooms at his Trump Tower amid the hot issue regarding transgender individuals not being able to use the bathroom of their choice in North Carolina.

However, just this February, after the Trump administration reversed the federal directive of former President Barack Obama regarding the transgender students to be allowed to use public school bathrooms even if it does not follow their gender when they were born, Jenner slammed the administration. She called the reversal a disaster.

Other celebrities hoping to run for office

Just last week, country singer Kid Rock announced that he might run for the Senate in 2018 in Michigan. Kid Rock, born Robert James Ritchie, took to Twitter to say that his political bid is not yet final as he has not filed with the Federal Election Commission yet. If the solid Trump supporter runs, he will face Michigan Democratic Senator Debbie Stabenow.

Stabenow took to Twitter to respond to Kid Rock's plan. The tweet says in part, "I'll keep doing what I do best: fighting for Michigan."

Kid Rock also took to his website to comment on Stabenow's statement. The singer said that, although she is better at playing politics, he would keep doing what he does best, which is "being a voice for tax paying hard working Americans." He will reportedly release more information about his political bid next week.

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson also expressed in the past weeks that he wants to run for president for the 2020 presidential elections.
