“The Winds Of Winter” author George R.R. Martin announced earlier this month that he is going to be busy in August on a big trip. However, the trip is not for him to spend some time off but for his commitments including the Worldcon 2017 in Finland. This makes many fans believe that he won’t have much time to finish the novel, which means that he can’t release it before the year ends. The author was previously slammed by fans for not giving updates about the progress of the book. Now, it looks like there’s hope for the book this year after the author said that he might not be writing episodes of any other TV shows.
Will he be able to finish the book this year?
In his Live Journal that he calls Not A Blog, “The Winds of Winter” author said that it’s possible that he won’t write episodes of any TV shows until he’s done writing the book. “And that goes for the five Game of Thrones successor shows as well,” he wrote. “Other writers will be scripting those pilots, and the same is true for WHO FEARS DEATH.”
Martin previously confirmed that he is developing all five “GOT” spin-offs but it looks like he cut it short and will now prioritize the book. Apparently, this is good news for all fans who have been waiting for years to get their hands on the highly-anticipated novel.
Last month, the “The Winds of Winter” author was criticized by fans for the lack of updates on the book’s progress.
Martin responded and said that he doesn’t want to update everyone with something that fans wouldn’t want to know unless it’s about the delivery of the book. However, the author said that the only way to keep fans at peace is to finish the book and it appears that he’s being true to what he said. He may have a lot on his plate at this time but everyone is hoping that the book will be delivered this year.
The author will be busy next month
Despite giving fans assurance that he is prioritizing “The Winds of Winter,” Martin's commitments are still taking him all over the place. In a separate post on his Not A Blog, the author said that he is going to attend a wedding in New York City in August. He will also have the “usual round of publishers” including meeting with agents.
He is also flying to Russia for another event in St. Petersberg.
