The fall TV season is fast approaching and one of the most highly anticipated returns include "Riverdale" season 2 from creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa on The CW. The series, which recently won a Saturn Award for Best Action/Thriller TV series, is set to return darker and campier than ever before. In fact, the cast has seen an addition in the form of Mark Consuelos, who plays the enigmatic Hiram Lodge. He's returning to the sleepy town during its sophomore season, together with more mysteries and secrets behind his shady dealings. Another recent addition has been announced in the form of "True Blood" star Brit Morgan.

Brit Morgan added as a recurring cast member

According to Deadline, 29-year old Brit Morgan will play Penny Peabody or the "Snake Charmer." She is described as "wily backroom attorney" who works for the Southside Serpents and bills her clients with favors instead of cash. She will be encountering Jughead (Cole Sprouse) when he seeks her out for help with his dad, FP, who viewers last saw in jail for aiding in the murder of Jason Blossom. Morgan is no stranger to massively popular TV shows, as she played Debbie Pelt in "True Blood" in 14 episodes between 2010 and 2011, and Amber in "Graceland" back in 2014. More recently, the actress appeared in "Supergirl" as Leslie Willis or Livewire. Morgan will next appear in "Riverdale" season 2 when it premieres this October.

Betty Cooper might be in trouble

Jughead isn't the only one who might find himself in trouble in "Riverdale" season 2. His girlfriend, Betty Cooper (Lili Reinhart) may also get herself entangled in a mess, as hinted by series creator Roberto Aguirre Sacasa. In a recent tweet, he shared the first page of the script of season 2 episode 5, and the title of the episode is "Chapter Eighteen: When a Stranger Calls."

While the executive producer did not say who's calling Betty, he did include a caption in his tweet that read, "#Riverdale fans, please tell @lilireinhart: DON’T.

ANSWER.THE. PHONE. BETTY."

According to People's Choice, Mädchen Amick, who plays Alice Cooper on the show, took to Instagram to share that she was filming some scenes with her TV daughter. She shared some pictures, including a caption that read, "Cannot tell you how happy I am to be back filming with this ridiculously talented powerhouse beautiful soul!"

"Riverdale" season 2 returns this October 11 on The CW. In the meantime, check out the promo recently revealed by The CW below.
