The premiere episode of “The Flash” Season 4 will bring back an old villain. Season 1 nemesis Peek-a-Boo is set to return.
Peek-a-Boo returns in “The Flash” Season 4 Episode 1
Actress Britne Oldford is set to reprise her role as the villain Shawna Baez aka Peek-a-Boo, according to a report from Entertainment Weekly. Details about the character’s return and what havoc she brings this time to Team Flash are kept under wraps.
The metahuman villain first appeared in Season 1 Episode 12, titled “Crazy For You.” In this episode, Peek-a-Boo robbed an armored truck using her teleportation powers.
She also broke into Iron Heights to free her boyfriend Clay Parker. Team Flash captured her and kept her in the Pipeline. However, she eventually escaped thanks to Golden Glider and Leonard Snart aka Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller) who busted her out of the prison. She escaped along with five other metahuman prisoners kept in S.T.A.R. Labs.
Peek-a-Boo appearance
When Peek-a-Boo appears in the premiere titled “The Flash Reborn,” Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) will still be in the Speed Force. Likewise, six months have passed since the events in the Season 3 Finale, when The Flash sacrificed himself to save Central City from an unbalanced Speed Force. It is unclear how Shawna Baez factors into the story for the Season 4 premiere, although it is likely she interacts mostly with Cisco and Wally West aka Kid Flash, based on the set photos leaked online (see video below).
New metahuman villain in “The Flash” Season 4
Set photos from the filming in Canada teased the appearance of a Samuroid in the installment. Images shared by fans on Twitter showed a man dressed as a samurai. In the comics, the Samuroid is a robotic warrior who wears indestructible armors and is equipped with jet packs and electrified swords.
Baron Katana created the Samuroids.
New Big Bad to battle Barry Allen
“The Flash” Season 4 will not have a speedster as Barry’s main nemesis. Instead, he will be human and goes by the name of Clifford DeVoe aka The Thinker. Savitar had mentioned the villain’s name when he told Barry that he has yet to battle DeVoe. Abra Kadabra also brought up his name in passing.
Casting for DeVoe is still ongoing and “Game of Thrones” star Miltos Yerolemou revealed that he had auditioned for the role. He also hinted that The Thinker in the series is very much like his comic book counterpart, who is really smart.
