The highly anticipated "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" revealed 6 new teaser character posters at D23 Expo last Saturday. The posters feature the late Carrie Fisher as Leia, Daisy Ridley as Rey, Mark Hamil as Luke Skywalker, Adam Driver as Kylo Ren, Oscar Isaac as Poe, and John Boyega as Finn.

The new posters

Following the red motif of the first trailer, the new teaser posters showcase the key characters in crimson attire that matches the movie’s logo. The upper portions of their faces are cut off intentionally, giving more focus to the trademark details of each character such as Leia’s ring, Rey’s Jedi robe and lightsaber, Luke’s lightsaber, Poe’s Alliance Starbird symbol, Finn’s Jacket, and Kylo Ren’s cross guard lightsaber and scar.

The Posters were immediately posted on the official Star Wars Twitter account after the presentation at the Disney's Live Action panel at D23 Expo last Saturday.

Behind the scenes footage

Together with the 6 new character posters, fans were also treated to a new behind-the-scenes footage of the highly anticipated second installment in the Star Wars sequel trilogy. Although Disney and Lucas Film didn’t release another full trailer for the movie, the footage still provides details and hints regarding the fate of the key characters as well as a sneak peek on a few new casts, creatures, and set pieces.

With the fast approaching mid-December release of The Last Jedi, Disney has proven itself to be effective in keeping information vague regarding the details about the movie. The new behind-the-scenes footage showcases Rian Johnson directing the late Carrie Fisher, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, and Mark Hamil.

Some of the main casts assure the fans that the upcoming film would be original and unexpected. And like the first trailer, the behind-the-scenes footage is also hinting on a darker tone of the film. One particular thing to note is that the director Rian Johnson said that he hopes the fans find the film “shocking” but also “real and honest.”

However, the most impactful part of the footage is the closing line from the late Carrie Fisher at the end, “It’s about family, and that’s what’s so powerful about it.” Check out the Star Wars: The Last Jedi Behind the Scenes footage below.
