"Riverdale" is one of the best TV shows for 2017. With the second season expected to return by Fall, rumors are suggesting that "Riverdale" will get darker in Season 2.
Trouble for everyone's favorite blonde character
The latest teaser released for Season 2 reveals that there is some trouble in store for the blonde River Vixen, Betty. Last July 12, the creator of "Riverdale," Robert Aguirre-Sacasa tweeted another second season scoop. This does not only excite fans but also kept everyone nervous.
The teaser looks like there is a Big Trouble coming directly to Betty.
The tweet's caption "DON'T. ANSWER. THE. PHONE. BETTY." along with the photo of the first page of the script of the second season's Episode 5 clearly shows that someone is trying to get in contact with Betty. And this someone is definitely not a person everyone would like to know. Who will this person be?
Lili Reinhart, who plays Betty in the CW show, also shared the script via Twitter. Since fans were tweeting for Betty not to answer the strange call, it seems that Betty is still going to take it.
Another addition to the growing cast
"Riverdale" is getting a new addition to the cast. However, this person is not a stranger to fans of CW. According to Refinery 29, viewers will recognize the new cast member as Liveware from "Supergirl" and as Debbie Pelt from "True Blood." What will Brit Morgan's role in the sequel?
Deadline states that Morgan will be playing the "Snake Charmer" Penny Peabody. Penny is an attorney that the Southside Serpents keep in their retainer, in case they have run-ins with the law.
The fact that the Southside Serpents need to keep a lawyer shows how often they need to face off with the law. According to TV Line, Penny is not opposed to playing on both sides.
She will run into Jughead and will bring her into the fold with Jughead's father.
However, Penny Peabody might appear to be a law-abiding citizen, but instead of taking cash as payments, she takes favors. Knowing how big she knows about the Southside Serpents, Jughead, and his family, Penny Peabody will be a major character in the second series.
Brit Morgan will join Mark Consuelos as the exciting new addition to the "Riverdale" cast. Consuelos was previously announced to take the role as Hiram Lodge, Veronica's imprisoned father. Since Hiram Lodge expected to return in Riverdale, is he connected to the shooting of Archie's father during the season finale?
