Losing a few characters from "Once Upon a Time" Season 7 isn't going to stop fans from tuning in. In a recent poll, more than two-thirds of fans have said that they will tune in for the newer season. It is possible that Lana Parrilla is the reason behind that. The Evil Queen/Regina is one of the reasons many fans tuned into the show in the first place. She certainly brings the atoning character to life.

'OUaT' season 7 reset

The season 6 finale of the show certainly felt like a series finale. That really is too surprising, when the show needed to end on a high for many characters.

Jennifer Morrison made it clear before the finale that she was leaving, but she wasn't going to be the only one. Ginnifer Goodwin, Josh Dallas, and more confirmed their departure, leaving just three main characters (and only two original characters) around for the next season.

Emma, the Charmings, and young Henry are all off living their happily ever after. At least, that's the way it seemed. The last minutes of the season 6 finale brought in a young girl, who turned up on the doorstep of an older Henry claiming to be his daughter. It was a mirror image of the "Once Upon a Time" pilot when Henry turned up on Emma's doorstep with the news that he was her son.

New identities for returning characters

While the showrunners continually refer to Hook, Regina, and Rumple by those names, it turns out that the character identities will be slightly different. Season 7 will see an all-new curse, where the characters have no idea who they really are. Unlike the first season of the show, the fans will have an idea of who they are in the fairytale world.

However, the new curse will not be a rehash of old ones. This is not a case of completely repeating the first season.

While Morrison is not returning to season 7 as a series regular, she is slated to be in one episode at least. The whereabouts of Emma and the Charmings will be revealed as some point in "OUAT" season 7. At least fans will find out how Hook and Emma were separated.

Maybe they will be reunited again at some point towards the end of the season.

Lucy's story is one that fans are intrigued about. Fans are not happy that Henry appears as a deadbeat dad, especially considering how upset he was about the way his parents' love story turned out. Fans have various theories about Lucy's mother, including the latest Disney princess Moana.

Only time will tell. "Once Upon a Time" season 7 will return to ABC on Fridays in the fall.
