Justine Bieber was set to continue his concert tour this weekend but he just announced that he’s over it and decided to pull the plug.
Justin Bieber's team releases official statement
TMZ just reported that Justin Bieber has recently decided to cancel the rest of his shows for his ongoing concert tour called the Purpose World Tour. The Canadian singer and songwriter had 14 more shows scheduled and the sudden announcement occurred and the decision has raised eyebrows.
According to TMZ, a source initially told them that Bieber has canceled the rest of his tour because the artist was simply "over it." However, shortly after news about the tour getting canceled got out, the singer’s team released an official statement to address the matter.
Bieber’s team announced that the final leg of the singer’s Purpose World Tour was canceled because of unforeseen circumstances. The official statement was posted on Bieber’s official website, saying that, “after careful consideration,” Bieber has decided not to perform in the remaining dates of the concert tour.
The statement also went on to thank fans who joined Bieber on the 150 shows he already performed on this tour. They didn’t give further details on why exactly Bieber decided not to push through with the rest of the leg of the Purpose World Tour but the team assured fans that the tickets will be refunded.
Bieber was set to kick off the final leg this weekend in a number of places in United States, starting off in Arlington, Texas.
That would be followed by shows in Pasadena, Denver, Minneapolis, East Rutherford, and Foxborough.
Aside from the United States, Bieber has also cancelled his Purpose World Tour shows in Toronto, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Santa Maria (Philippines), and Singapore. With the unexpected cancellation of the final leg, the said world tour capped off in London on July 2.
China bans Justin Bieber
Beijing’s cultural bureau recently barred the Canadian artist from entering and performing in the country after earning a reputation for being a controversial foreign young celebrity. Bieber's infamous bad behavior in several countries was highly publicized and this has gotten China’s attention.
Banning Bieber from the country was one of China’s ways of purifying the nation’s performing arts.
They were afraid that the young singer would stir up trouble in the country like he did before when he was in China for a performance. The cultural bureau did not disclose further details on the incident.
