After only seven months in the White House, Donald Trump continues to make enemies across the United States. Following the latest attempt of Trump and the Republican Party to repeal the Affordable Care Act, actor George Takei decided to voice his opposition to the president on social media.
Takei on Trump
When Donald Trump first announced that he was going to run for president back in June 2015, he quickly got on the wrong side of the more liberal Hollywood when he accused illegal immigrants from Mexico of being "rapists" and "murderers." In the two years that have followed, the feud between the majority of entertainers and the former host of "The Apprentice" has only gotten worse.
During the 2016 presidential election, Trump would routinely lash out at "Saturday Night Live," especially due to the satirical performance of Alec Baldwin who played a mock-version of the billionaire real estate mogul. While some actors and other entertainers have used humor to troll Trump on TV, others have used their presence on social media to fire back. Over the last year, one of the most vocal opponents of the president has been George Takei, who continued his attack during a series of tweets on July 30.
Taking to Twitter on Sunday was George Takei, who didn't hold back his thoughts about Donald Trump.
"The president shows no remorse. That crazy's now par for the course. So Donnie n' Mooch. Might as well smooch. While Vladimir files for divorce," Takei tweeted out in reference to the growing scandal linking Trump to Russia.
George Takei then decided to incorporate John Kelly into his tweetstorm, ripping the new chief of staff in the process. "Some really think Kelly can reign Donald in? For Donald, chaos is a feature, not a bug," Takei wrote, while adding, "If Kelly tries to impose order, he'll be out too."
Takei on Obamacare
In his final tweet as of press time, George Takei went on to attack the entire Republican Party for their attempt at repealing the Affordable Care Act and leaving millions of Americans without health insurance.
"Another repeal effort is in the works," the former "Star Trek" star tweeted out, while adding, "The GOP seems to be practicing spaghetti governance--throw a bill at the wall and see what sticks."
Moving forward
While Donald Trump and his administration continue to deflect away from the trouble in the White House, critics of the president don't look to be holding back their outrage. With Trump sitting on just a 35 percent favorability rating, only time will tell how the rest of his time in office plays out.
