Game of Thrones” Season 7 is underway but fans might have to wait longer for the final Season 8 as well as the proposed spinoff as HBO has indicated at the same. On the other hand, the success of the fantasy show has helped shows like “Insecure” and “Ballers” that is garnering better ratings.

Season 7 of “Game of Thrones” has arrived a few months later as compared to its usual previous season schedules and now fans might have to wait even longer for the final Season 8. Well, the wait may be extended as the final season of "GoT" may get delayed till 2019.

Delays indicated for the premiere of GOT Season 8 and it has its impact on the spinoff too!

“Game of Thrones” Season 7 will be over by the end of next month but fans would have to wait even longer for the final Season 8. According to reports, Casey Bloys, the HBO programming head had said that Season 8 is fully written and the shooting would begin in September.

However, if fans remember, showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss had earlier said that they intend to take a year and a half to shoot the final and going by their stand, it does seem like “Game of Thrones” Season 8 would arrive earlier than 2019.

This is not good news for fans and to add to their woes it has come to the light that the proposed GOT spinoff would take off only after a gap of one year after the final Season 8 is wrapped up.

Casey Bloys recently said that he does not want anything to steal the thunder from the series finale and this is the reason that they have decided to separate the original show from the spinoff. He also affirmed that Season 8 would be epic and the episodes would also be longer, which will surely cheer up fans and “Game of Thrones.”

Two more HBO series enjoys higher rating and views, all thanks to GOT

What is more, the HBO programming head has also said that the proposed spinoff would not air until a year after the final season but two HBO shows- “Insecure” and “Ballers” have gained heavily riding on the back of “Game of Thrones.”

It is another time to rejoice for the fans of “Insecure” and “Ballers,” who have received better ratings this year.

The former received a rating of 0.6 and 1.12 million views while the latter got 2.48 million viewers and a rating of 1.2. For both the shows, the figures are better than their previous seasons and this has been made possible by “Game of Thrones” but the real test would come when these two continue their run after GOT Season 7 comes to an end.
