"Game of Thrones" Season 7 introduces Arya in full revenge mode while actress Maisie Williams talked about her possible role in the final season. Read on for more details.
Arya strikes back
"Game of Thrones" Season 7 brings us to the fruit of her labor after her intensive training under the Faceless Men in Braavos. The most-awaited come back for the hit HBO series kicks off with a "flashback" scene from the Red Wedding.
Walder Frey (David Bradley) ordered the ladies to bring out the wine and food for the feast after their successful ambush on House Stark. However, it immediately turned into a brutal scene when the entire Frey men began vomiting blood.
It was then revealed that Arya imitated the dead Frey. She then got her revenge on the people who helped the late cold-blooded man kill Robb (Richard Madden), Catelyn (Michelle Fairley) and their Stark men.
Maisie Williams meets Ed Sheeran
Arya is currently busy ticking off her killer bucket list. The "Dragonstone" episode showed that she is now looking for Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey).
The "Game of Thrones" recap also featured another highlight in Arya's storyline which was the Ed Sheeran cameo. The redhead hitmaker appeared as one of the Lannister soldiers who offered her some food and company. She stumbled upon his group outside King's Landing while on her way to "kill the queen."
The show has been planning to add the "Shape of You" singer in the cast and now, fans had witnessed the epic moment. Co-showrunner David Benioff shared that they wanted to surprise Williams since she is one of Sheeran's biggest fans.
Is Arya reuniting with Nymeria in Episode 2?
There would not be a Stark reunion but one sibling might see her dire-wolf again. Titled as "Stormborn," the newest episode will air on July 23, 2017.
The trailer showed Arya who looked shocked for an unknown reason. It then cuts to a scene featuring a grayish wolf baring its teeth out.
In Season 1, the Stark siblings received their own dire-wolves from Ned (Sean Bean) including Arya's Nymeria. The two got separated when she decided to let her go before Joffrey's (Jack Gleeson) men kill Nymeria for injuring him.
Nymeria's whereabouts are still unknown since then but the clip hints at the possibility that it might be Arya's. A Stark-dire-wolf union will be a huge moment since all of them died except for Nymeria and Jon Snow's (Kit Harington) Ghost.
In other news, Maisie Williams shared a theory she had for Arya's endgame in the entire series.
She confessed that she had been thinking about it for a long time but fans might not like it. Williams said, "Somebody would sit on the Iron Throne at the end and then they whip their face off and it’s Arya instead."
"Game of Thrones" Season 7 airs every Sunday on HBO. Watch the trailer for Episode 2 "Stormborn" below.
