The second episode of #Game of Thrones 7, Stormborn, showed just how ruthless #Euron Greyjoy is and how formidable the massive Iron armada under his command can be.

Euron ambushed and obliterated Yara and Theon’s stolen fleet, killing two of the Sand Snakes, capturing his hated niece, Ellaria Sands, and the surviving Sand, Tyene. He forced Theon to summon his inner cowardice (Reek). He eventually abandon the ship, leaving his sister to the merciless mercy of their mad uncle.

Cersie is not losing

It is beginning to look as though Queen Cersie is not playing for the losing team after all as Jamie harshly pointed out while she casually strolls on a painted map of Westeros, identifying and cursing her enemies in all four corners of the Seven Kingdoms.

With Euron Greyjoy hell bent to win Cersie over with both his hands and all of his fleet, Randall Tarly looking to switch allegiance from the Tyrells to the Lannisters, and Qyburn proudly demonstrating his Dragon killer, the Queen of the Seven (or three) Kingdoms is looking like an equal match to Daenerys Targayen, dragons and all.

Euron Greyjoy- a lookback

Euron Greyjoy, as you may already know is Lord Balon Greyjoy's younger brother and the uncle of Theon and Yara. According to the A Wiki of Ice and Fire, he is also known as the Crow's Eye and Euron Crow's Eye. He captains a ship crewed entirely by mutes whose tongues he ripped out. The ship is aptly named Silence.

During the failed Greyjoy Rebellion, he orchestrated a daring raid of the Lannister fleet at Lannisport as Jamie Lannister pointed out during Euron’s audience with Cersie.

But the Lannister forces made it to the Iron Islands nonetheless forcing Euron to flee into exile.

Last season of Game of Thrones, Euron Greyjoy returned to the Iron Islands and murdered his elder brother Balon Greyjoy and claimed the throne of the Iron Islands. Yara and Theon were left with no choice but to flee along with their loyal forces and best ships as Euron’s first act was to murder them both.

The “gifts”

It is Cersie who definitely draw the first blood in this war, thwarting the planned siege by the combined forces of the Greyjoy siblings, Dorne and the Tyrells and she will have her gifts as promised by Euron.

The trailer for the next episode of Game of Thrones 7 entitled “Queen’s Justice” showed Euron Greyjoy being cheered at the streets of Kings Landing.

We have still to find out how Cersie would make of his triumph and “gifts”.

Having to face Euron's madness and Cersie's vengeance, Yara, Ellaria Sand, and Tyene Sand are surely facing horror unimaginable.

Game of Thrones 7 Episode 3 is next Sunday on HBO.
