The second full-length trailer of "The Defenders" will feature the return of Elektra and the full force of The Hand coming after the Marvel heroes.

San Diego Comic-Con trailer

The new trailer was shown during this year's San Diego Comic-Con event as it features the formation of the team: Matt Murdock/Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Danny Rand/Iron Fist. The trailer is being narrated by Sigourney Weaver's character Alexandra, who serves as the main antagonist and possibly, the new leader of The Hand. She described how war makes a hero in his/her own point-of-view, no matter which side he/she is on, as they commence their plan for New York.

The next scene will feature all-four heroes locking in several fight scenes against the Hand's forces while arguing at each other that they are not a team. The Hand is clearly targeting the loved ones of each hero such as Foggy Nelson, Trish Walker, Claire Temple, Misty Knight and Colleen Wing.

Matt's old mentor Stick will also return to "The Defenders" as they guide the heroes to stop Alexandra and her forces. In order to do so, they will need to set aside whatever personal differences they have and start working together.

Prior to the new trailer from SDCC 2017, a promo teaser for "The Defenders" was released, which featured legendary comic book writer Stan Lee as its narrator. The promo also featured Frank Castle/The Punisher, hinting that he will make an appearance in the Netflix series.

Elektra return's and joins The Hand

During Alexandra's narration at the beginning of the SDCC trailer, she was speaking to the newly resurrected Elektra Natchios, who was killed by Nobu during "Daredevil" season 2 finale.

Elektra's return will be met with confusion, especially to Matt Murdock since she is his ally and former love interest.

It was during "Daredevil" season 2 that Elektra discovered the truth behind her nature, being one of the ancient weapon's of The Hand called "The Black Sky."

Now allied with the same group that she once against, Elektra will be leading Alexandra's forces against Matt, Jessica, Luke and Danny for the soul of New York.

The cast of the Netflix series revealed how all-four heroes were formed together during a Facebook live stream session with Entertainment Weekly.

The cast pointed out that Danny was the driving force within the team, while both Alexandra and Elektra "pushed" them to be together.

Cast member Elodie Yung told ET that the audiences will see a "very bloody, very dark" take on her character in "The Defenders."

"It's good to go back to a character, you know, you like, love, and then just explore different aspects of her personality," Yung said." So yeah, I had a lot of fun."

"The Defenders" will premiere on Aug. 18 on Netflix.
