"Counting On" has been incredibly popular with fans. While it doesn't have the same vibe that "19 Kids and Counting" had, it is something the viewers look forward to watching on Monday nights. It does fairly well on the TLC network. In fact, there have been some pretty big life events that the show has captured for the Duggar family.
Was the show canceled or renewed?
Earlier today, TLC made the decision about whether they were choosing to renew "Counting On" or cancel it. According to the Hollywood Gossip, it is renewed. The Duggar family is likely celebrating the news as the renewal wasn't a sure thing this time around.
The Duggar family caught a lot of criticism for the previous season being centered solely around Jinger Duggar and Jeremy Vuolo. The current season is doing rather well for the network as it has a variety of things happening. From Jessa's delivery of Henry to Joy-Anna Duggar's marriage, there was no shortage of huge family events.
Now that "Counting On" has been renewed, fans can be sure that Joseph Duggar and Kendra Caldwell will be shown as they go through the process of planning a wedding and getting married. This is particularly interesting for fans because it has been several years since a male member of the family walked down the aisle. Josh Duggar is the only brother married and now Joseph will join him in the married life.
Jill's second birth will likely be included
There has been a lot of talk about the arrival of Samuel Dillard over the last week. Jill Duggar had to have a c-section after 40 hours of hard labor. This wasn't shocking to "Counting On" fans as she had complications with her first birth and it ended with an emergency c-section.
There is some concern that their future of having children will be complicated because, after a few surgeries, it is no longer safe to deliver via c-section. Fans were worried about her health after it took a while to see a photo but at this point, all is well.
Information regarding the new season has not been released other than the official confirmation.
The air date will not be available for quite some time but it is being projected to happen this fall. Joseph Duggar and Kendra Caldwell announced their wedding date is in October, which may even grant "Counting On" another season if the filming can't be edited fast enough to fit in on the upcoming season. Either way, this is great news for the Duggar family and their fans.
