The latest updates and possible spoilers for "Arrow" Season 6 will feature a new villain that Oliver Queen and Team Arrow will face, and the flashback scenes will now focus on Deathstroke.

The new 'Big Bad' this season

It was during the San Diego Comic-Con event that show producer Marc Guggenheim revealed that Richard Dragon would be the main villain for "Arrow" season 6, as he told ComicBook that Richard would be more grounded and gritty crime lord.

"You know what I really like about our interpretation of Richard is, he's very grounded. He's not flamboyant big bad, he doesn't wear a costume, he really is a crime lord sort of in Tobias Church mode, Guggenheim said.

In the DC comics, Richard Dragon was a hero and mastered several martial arts. The New 52 version of the character is named Ricardo Diaz Jr., the son of the first Richard Dragon. Diaz became a crime lord and founded the group called the "Longbow Hunters."

Executive producer Wendy Mericle stated that the new villain would affect Team Arrow both "personally and directly," rather than just an enemy of Oliver Queen.

Deathstroke's flashbacks

Another big change for "Arrow" season 6 will be the show's recurring flashback scenes, as they will not focus on a younger Oliver Queen, but rather, on different characters like Slade Wilson/Deathstroke.

For five seasons that focus on the flashbacks was Oliver's journey as he comes to terms with the destiny that has been laid in front of him.

From his time on the Lian Yu to his undercover work in Hong Kong, and his vendetta in Russia. The flashbacks laid the groundwork for Oliver to become the Green Arrow.

Guggenheim told Cinemablend during SDCC 2017 that the flashback scenes will not appear in every episode and it will be "character specific." The showrunner plans to reveal more of Slade's backstory in a two-part episode of the season.

Slade is no stranger to the "Arrow" TV series being one of the mentors Oliver during his time in the Lian Yu. He became the main villain of season 2, as he wanted revenge on Oliver for his indirect participation in Shado's death. Slade is also driven insane by the Mirakuru drug, which gave him his super human abilities.

It was during the season 5 finale that Slade joined Oliver, Nyssa al-Ghul and Captain Boomerang in taking down Prometheus and his allies to save Team Arrow on the Lian Yu.

"Arrow" season 6 will premiere on Thursday, Oct. 12 on the CW Network.
