Just when you started to think that the bag of bombshells has ceased dropping from the debut episode of Season 7 of "Game of Thrones," there is yet another astonishing surprise coming your way. We all were enthralled upon seeing the pop star Ed Sheeran in the show playing the character of a soldier under the Lannister banner and wished in our hearts to have him as a Stark ally.
Anyway, we were glad, if not fully content, to have him on the show and making it more appealing with his magnificent voice. Not only that, the beautiful song is sung by the extraordinary vocalist actually holds an encrypted message.
Yes, you read it right. The song somewhat points in the direction of the Lannister twins.
The Song explained
The song's lyrics go like "For the hands of gold are always cold but a woman's hands are warm" and the song actually appeared in the third novel "A Storm of Swords" in the fictional drama series of G. R. R. Martin "A Song of Ice and Fire."
The song was eventually meant for Tyrion Lannister and his affair with Shae. The beautiful relationship has an awful and heartbreaking end with Shae betraying Tyrion and the dwarf murdering his beloved. Now, when Shae is dead and Tyrion is serving as the hand of the Queen to the Mother of Dragons, you might be wondering as to why the song is used in season 7.
Turns out, the song that was earlier used for the elder brother now points towards his younger twin siblings, Jamie and Cersei Lannister. With Cersei hitting the roof, turning into a mad queen and Jamie's golden hand, chances are that the two lovers might have the exact same fate as Tyrion's.
We also witnessed Jamie and Cersei's differences in opinions over ruling the seven kingdoms in the season's premiere episode.
An irritated Jamie also fought with Cersei over the suicide of their youngest child and king, Tommen.
More about the possible fate
The twins Jamie and Cersei were in a secret affair right from the start of the show and it is believed that both were truly in love with each other. But, as the show proceeded, we saw that there was still some good left in Jamie who managed to redeem himself while on the other hand, Cersei had turned completely evil, owing to her insane lust for power and the desire to rule the seven kingdoms.
She is on her way to becoming the mad Queen, the next Aerys Targaryen.
We will have to wait in order to know whether the Kingslayer will kill yet another mad Queen and her sibling and lover, till then, hum to the beautiful song and listen to the angelic voice of Ed Sheeran.
