There is no doubt that “Wonder Woman” would surpass box office records since its launch date on June 22. It was told that the hit movie raked in more than $500 million in three weeks, a great milestone for a film’s opening week. Reports revealed that Gal Gadot and the movie director Patty Jenkins gained plenty of praises and positive feedback from all moviegoers as “Wonder Woman” brought in a great storyline and shocking twists.

“Wonder Woman” earns $500-million mark

According to Inquisitr, “Wonder Woman” would easily hit the $500 million mark within the week as it already ended the previous week with $489.5 worldwide. It was claimed that the filmed could still earn another $100 million before it actually concludes its life on the theater.

The said movie was a great milestone not just for the whole team but for Patty Jenkins as well, as it became the fourth movie directed by a woman to hit the $500-million mark. The said list includes Sam Taylor Johnson for directing “Fifty Shades of Grey” and Jennifer Yuh Nelson for creating “Kung Fu Panda 2”.

“Wonder Woman” still weak compare to other DC films

But despite the positive reviews for “Wonder Woman”, it was revealed that the film is still lower compared to some of the DC movies released before. Some believed that it could surpass “Man of Steel’s “$668-million mark, while other agreed that the film couldn’t go along with “Suicide Squad” and “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’s” box office results.

However, the film already placed eight in the worldwide rankings for this year’s movie released. ‘Wonder Woman’ is expected to exceed some of the recently-concluded movies including “Beauty and the Beast”,” The Fate of The Furious” and the “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2”.

With that, fans are expectant that it would win against some of the hit Marvel movies including “Thor”, “The Incredible Hulk” and “Captain America: The First Avenger”.
