"Jurassic World 2" is a year away from release and production is well underway for the upcoming action-suspense film. It's the sequel that relaunched the franchise, this time with "Guardians of the Galaxy" star Chris Pratt taking on a more a serious role than he usually does, together with Screen Actors Guild Award winner Bryce Dallas Howard.

The film brings back director Colin Trevorrow, this time in a screenwriting capacity, this time with "A Monster Calls" director J. A. Bayona on the helm. The latest news surrounding the $1.672 billion 2015 sequel is that it would have more suspense and action and that speculations have arisen about a new ending.

Colin Trevorrow opens up about 'Jurassic World 2'

While Colin Trevorrow has been promoting his latest directorial project "The Book of Henry" (featuring Naomi Watts and Jacob Tremblay), the director has also been asked about the upcoming "Jurassic World 2," to which he admitted to MTV that the upcoming sequel is "deeper, more character-based, and it definitely leans into suspense."

The director added that the upcoming film has quite an awesome action series in the middle part. He explained, "It does have the big action in the middle...I’ve started to see stuff come together, and it’s just insane."

Speculation about a changed ending surfaced following new Twitter photo

As there's not much official news coming from the production as not to spoil the plot, many "Jurassic World 2" fans are nitpicking social media posts from stars and individuals connected to the film.

According to Screenrant, The Awkward Yeti recently posted a new photo of Bryce Dallas Howard reading the script of the film, sparking speculation that the ending has been changed.

Upon closer inspection, the script contains yellow pages, which indicate rewritten parts. However, this isn't causing for worry, as Colin Trevorrow confirmed that he has been working closely with J.

A. Bayona to ensure they come up with the best scenes and eventually, the best production they can come up with, given the box office numbers provided by the 2015 film.

Jeff Goldblum to return to the franchise

Back in May, "Jurassic Park" star Jeff Goldblum was announced to be returning to the franchise with a role in "Jurassic World 2." The actor is reprising his role as Dr. Ian Malcolm, and a new report from Screenrant indicates that Malcolm's dialogue relies heavily on the original Michael Crichton novels.

It would be interesting to see how the film will honor the original novels when it arrives next year.

In the meantime, fans can purchase the Blu-ray copy of the 2015 film to relive the action and adventure with Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard. "Jurassic World 2" arrives in theaters on June 22, 2018.
