Back in April of 2017, "Vampire Diaries" star Ian Somerhalder wished his wife, "Twilight" star, Nikki Reed a happy two-year wedding anniversary on Instagram with a throwback to their wedding day photo. A few days later on May 4, 2017, Ian shocked the world by posting a photograph of him kneeling before his wife, holding her very pregnant belly. The caption for the photo stated the couple had waited as long as they could before sharing the news with the world.
Everything Changes
While most of the comments were nothing but loving and kind, it brings forward the question of how far along is Nikki Reed and when can we expect to see baby photos from the beautiful couple.
According to Siver Time on June 28, 2017, the couple is expected to give birth somewhere between September and October with early November being the latest.
According to the article, the "Sleepy Hollow" actress was "in at least her second trimester" of her pregnancy, if judging by the size of her baby bump. Whatever her due date, Reed looks absolutely stunning and glowing in Somerhalder's Instagram photos.
The sex of the baby has not been released; however, there is speculation that the baby is a boy based on the color of poncho Nikki is wearing in the photographs. Despite rumors, it appears that there is no marriage on the rocks here.
It's Not All Sunshine and Rainbows
Not everything is sunshine and rainbows.
Haters do exist; mostly from young girls who grew up watching "Vampire Diaries" during their pubescent years, developing head-over-heels crushes, blinding them to the real life the actors may have outside of their television roles.
Nikki Reed once married Season 10 "American Idol" finalist, and singer for The Grand Magnolias, Paul McDonald.
The pair met each other on a segment of "Red Riding Hood" in March 2011. After a few months of dating, the pair immediately married in October of 2011. The couple separated in 2014, and their divorce was finalized in January 2015.
Because of her short-lived marriage, Somerhalder fans did not take the news too lightly when they began dating in 2014 when Reed and McDonald had separated.
Many were fearful of another repeat. What many fans did not realize is that Nikki and Ian had been friends for many years before they began dating. The pair never had anything outside of a friendship for those years because each was in other relationships. The foundation of friendship had been laid before the couple began dating.
Somerhalder and Reed married in April 2015, just months after her divorce from McDonald was finalized. This is the first marriage for Somerhalder, the second for Reed.
Happily Ever After
Now, two years later, the couple is having their first child. This will be the first child for Somerhalder, 38, and Reed, 29.
In a US Weekly article dated April 27, 2015, Nikki was quoted as saying the biggest thing they fight about is whether Somerhalder's eyes are ocean blue or aqua. Ian thinks they are ocean blue, while Nikki says aqua.
