In 2006 former Vice President Al Gore released "An Inconvenient Truth," a movie about Gore educating viewers on the effects of Global warming. According to nrdc.org, "global warming occurs when carbon dioxide (CO2) and other air pollutants and greenhouse gases collect in the atmosphere and absorb sunlight and solar radiation that have bounced off the earth's surface." In the movie, Gore used slideshow presentations to prove his argument on the matter. Gore opens the movie with reminding members in attendance of his "Presidential Campaign" in the year of 2000.

In his introduction to the crowd, he says, "I am Al Gore I used to be the next President of the United States." His main focus is to show everyone how temperature increases are taking place all over the world and which is raising the risk for stronger storms. Now, eleven years later set to release next month is the sequel to "An Inconvenient Truth" titled, "An Inconvenient Sequel."

'An Inconvenient Truth' magnified global warming

At the time of the release of "An Inconvenient Truth" in 2006, there were many places around the world that were experiencing strong hurricane storms. Some of these climate-related disasters were strong enough to wipe out entire cities, states, regions, and even islands.

One of the states majorly affected by these such disasters was Louisiana.

"Hurricane Katrina" killed a lot of people and caused billions of dollars worth of property damage. He demonstrates in his slide show the visual speed on a weather radar of Hurricane Katrina and how it affected so many areas. According to DoSomething.org, "Hurricane Katrina was the largest and 3rd strongest hurricane ever recorded to make landfall in the US." They also reported that "the final death toll was at 1,836, primarily from Louisiana (1,577) and Mississippi (238)."

"An Inconvenient Truth" went on to win many acclaimed awards in the year of 2007.

The movie won an "Academy Award" most importantly for "Best Documentary Feature."

'The Sequel'

Eleven years since its original release, "An Inconvenient Sequel" will be in theaters July 28, 2017. The movie was made to prove to the world that the same statements made in the original release are validated with the facts of today's issues with global warming.

In a trailer for "An Inconvenient Sequel," Al Gore explains how one of his main points in the original release was showing how the combination of sea level rise and storm surge would flood the 911 memorial site and how people were saying it was a terrible exaggeration." He displays video of footage proving that his proposition was indeed correct as the site had been flooded by "Hurricane Sandy" when the storm hit in October of 2012.

He also displays many current videos of now President of the United States Donald Trump and how he is doing everything in his power to ruin the process by planning to shut down the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and canceling billions in climate change spending.
