Hey, "NCIS: Los Angeles" fans. It is with great pleasure that we can officially confirm with you, right now, that CBS has greenlit your favorite show for a brand new season 9! That's right. You can now bust open the champagne bottles and rejoice! We got these official confirmations from both TV Line and telltaletv.com. For some reason, TV Line never did a write-up about the announcement. They just revealed it on their renewal report card page.
Late March 2017
We were able to find something from Tell-Tale TV, though. They tell us that the renewal was made back in late March 2017.
Apparently, the show's big move to Sunday night, definitely paid off, delivering a 1.6 rating score and 11.5 million viewers per episode! That's huge. It's believed that it's going to just keep on sticking around like the Original NCIS series that it was spun off from. They're set to reach their whopping 200th episode in the new Season 9 so that sounds fantastic indeed.
As of right now, we don't have any confirmation of how many episodes CBS is going to order for the new season. However, we're guessing that it'll be another 24. We also don't know when it's set to debut but an educated guess would say that it'll probably happen around late September like it always does. We expect to get confirmation of all these logistics either next month or in July 2017, so be sure to keep an eye out for all those important details.
We've also gotten word that CBS,as a whole, is on pace to finish up as the most-watched network for the freaking 14th time in about 15 years! So, it's safe to say that CBS is absolutely kicking butt.
Paleyfest event
Now, with a new season, of course, comes new spoilers, sneak peek clips, cast interviews, photos and all that good stuff.
Fortunately, the folks over at TV Guide didn't waste any time jumping on that bandwagon at this year's Paleyfest event in Los Angeles back in late March 2017. They were able to chat up various members of the main cast as well as the executive producer, R. Scott Gemmill, who is the one who delivered the small, season 9 teaser spoiler that we have for you guys.
Sort of a reset
This spoiler isn't much, but that's all we have for now. At one point during their big interview session, Gemmill told them that season 9 is going to be sort of a reset and that there's going to be huge cliffhangers in tonight's big season 8 finale episode, regarding Sam, Kensi, and Deeks. Apparently, their lives are going to change a lot, which will, most certainly, lead into season 9. We're definitely sure that the press will hit up Gemmill again after tonight's huge finale to get some more initial new season spoiler dish, so you'll certainly want to look for more intel to show up in the next few days.
