Two versions of martha stewart’s photo were seen posted on social networks, giving the portraits of Donald Trump and Snoop Dogg hand gestures. Standing between the two men and basing on what the hands of Stewart said in a photo posted by Newlin Tillotson, their roles in her life are obvious. CBS News, Vanity Fair and USA News all referred to the apparent Middle Finger gesture.
The story behind the pictures
Portraits of Donald Trump and Snoop Dogg by Andres Serrano were included in Frieze Art Fair last weekend on Randall’s Island in New York City, where Martha Stewart happened to be just a casual guest.
The two portraits are adjacent to each other, which people interpretted as the two men in Martha Stewart's life. On her Instagram account a post of artist and embroiderer, Tillotson, showed Stewart giving Snoop Dogg a peace sign. On the other hand, in the same photo, Stewart appears to be giving Donald Trump a middle finger. The said picture was seen on social media but few moments later was either immediately taken down or made private. There were two photos posted, the first one shows the lifestyle tycoon in the center of the two men giving both of them a peace sign. The scond photo that has gone viral is the one showing the former "Apprentice" host giving Trump the middle finger. She retained the picture with the peace sign gestures on her Instagram account to promote the "Martha & Snoop’s Potluck Dinner Party" season 2 in VH1.
The lifestyle tycoon has been in some controversies in the past and this incident is not that surprising to the press and to the public. Martha and Snoop have been together for quite some time because of their show. Looking back, early this year, a music video of Snoop was released showing a vulgar scene threatening a Donald Trump clown with a gun and now Martha is the one apparently expressing her ill-feeling towards Trump.
'The Apprentice' host
Meanwhile, the relationship between Martha Stewart and Donald Trump has been rocky ever since the two had their own versions of “The Apprentice” in 2006. Stewart and Trump feuded in 2006 when they blamed each other for her season's demise. During the presidential election in 2016, she publicly admitted being in Hillary Clinton’s camp.
Nevertheless, the men and women behind Martha approve of her for the straight forward side of the domestic diva. An executive from “Martha Stewart Living,” Kevin Sharkey, even posted the two versions of her photo saying that this is the politically correct version while the other one is much less interesting.
