The long wait is almost over for the highly anticipated comeback of "Game of Thrones" on our TV screens as the seventh season of the popular HBO series is all set to return on July 16. The network, however, confirmed that the last two installments of the David Benioff creation will run fewer episodes, unlike the first six seasons.
What to expect from Season 7?
The first look at "Game of Thrones" Season 7 featured the all grown up dragons of Daenerys Targaryen.
In fact, director Matt Shakman said these dragons are almost the size of Boeing 747 which measures 250 feet. Among the three dragons, Drogon was named as the largest with a 30 feet diameter of flame.
The upcoming installment will run for seven episodes, while the final part of "Game of Thrones" franchise will feature six episodes. Hence, Kit Harington confirmed that the two new seasons will have a faster pace, unlike the previous ones. Despite the limited episodes, the actor, who has brought to life Jon Snow, assured the remainders of the show will be packed with exciting revelations and encounters.
Similarly, a teaser photo released by HBO featured a white walker which is expected to play a crucial role in the upcoming seasons of the TV series.
What to expect from the actors?
Everyone, including the actors, was surprised when the show announced fewer episodes for seasons 7 and 8. In fact, Emilia Clarke, who is known as the Mother of Dragons, was puzzled when she learned about the plan. She even admitted that they are "filming longer" for the new installments.
Even Peter Dinklage' was surprised with his longer screen time as Tyrion Lannister in "Games of Thrones" Season 7, which equated to longer filming hours. Showrunner Dan Weiss explained these characters need to add more "dramatic weight" in the upcoming installment after the show has killed several people in the past seasons.
During the sixth run of "Game of Thrones," the characters of Iwan Rheon and Natalie Dormer were axed from the show. Viewers can also expect their favorite characters to meet in the upcoming episodes of the HBO series. Similarly, Tyrion and Danaerys have already met in the previous season of the fantasy drama.
The brains behind "Game of Thrones" assured fans can expect a lot from the remaining episodes of the show. They assured the new seasons will be different from the rest. Carice van Houten or Melisandre said "war has really started" and that "there's no escape."
